A look back at my favorite images of 2017 | Nashville Wedding Photography

A look back at my favorite images of 2017 | Nashville Wedding Photography

With 2018 upon us, I decided to take a look back at the work I've created over the course of the year. It wasn't necessarily the easiest year for me work wise, but I'm proud to say that I've created some of my best and most heartfelt work to date.

Sometimes choosing a favorite images is like choosing a favorite child. I equally love so many of the images I've created over the past year(s), and each for very different or exactly the same reason. In years' past, I've selected my favorite from each shoot or each wedding, but this year, I just wanted to pick the photos that stuck out in my mind the most.... the ones that rise above all the others either for the moment or the emotions or the color or composition ... Some of them aren't that fancy or life altering, but are rather simple. Really, I've selected the ones that speak to my soul, whether they be an epic double exposure, an amazing beach view, or just a snapshot of my boys.

There is no real trend among them, although many more are black and white than I would have expected. Most of them either represent a significant moment in my life personally or in the lives of the folks in the photo. The only true common thread is that every.single.one was photographed on film. Film fills my creative cup, and looking ahead to 2018, I know digital will become less and less prominent in my work.

What are your favorites of mine from the year? I'd love to hear your feedback!
